Doctor Strange Comicbook Origins
Doctor Strange was conceived by artist Steve Ditko who also worked on Spider-Man in the early sixties. Stan Lee and co liked Ditko's idea and ran with the character who first appeared in Strange Tales #110 in 1963.

When a car accident damages his hands, he is unable to continue his work as a talented Doctor and decides to travel the world in an effort to restore the use of his hands. When he crosses paths with the Ancient One, he is introduced to the mystical realm of magic and spends years training to be the Sorcerer Supreme. Eventually he returns to New York where he becomes one of the city's heroes and forms an alliance with Spider-Man.
