Tony Stark MCU Origin
Iron Man introduced movie fans to the world of Marvel in a big way. When Stark is taken hostage by terrorists, he builds the Iron Man mark 1 suit with the help of fellow prisoner, Dr Ho Yinsen. Stark later learns that his business partner and mentor Obadiah Stane is using Stark Industries for his own nefarious purposes and steals the designs for the Iron Man suit building his own armour named "Iron Monger".
Tony later joins the Avengers fighting in the battle of New York alongside Captain America, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk and Thor. Realising that the Earth is hilariously outgunned he sets out to build a "suit of armour around the world" and creates Ultron, an AI who was supposed to protect the world Tony has come to care so much about. Stark's politics clash with Captain America in Age of Ultron and are explored further in Captain America: Civil War where the movie version of the "Superhero Registration Act (Sokovia Accords) forces the Avengers on different sides. Stark would go on to mentor Spider-Man in a pseudo Uncle Ben role in Spider-Man: Homecoming and would even create the Iron Spider suite for Peter Parker.
